It was a tough day out for our Kensington CC Over 50 Men Div 1, who lost to Adelaide University CC Over 50 Men on a tough day.
After batting first, we finished on 7/225 from 40 overs. Sam Crafter passed fifty on the way to 60. Andrew Rumbelow passed fifty on the way to 50 with five fours and two sixes. Gavin Rowe was the best of Adelaide University CC Over 50 Men's bowlers, finishing with three for 39.
Our opponents knocked off the runs, finishing on 8/226 in 39.3 overs. Dennis Cester made a polished 50 for the visitors, a well-deserved half-century. John Ryan was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 23 off eight overs. Rumbelow offered good support with two for 47.
It could have gone either way, and the boys can be proud of the fight.
We will be looking to get back in the winning column soon. Well played to our opponents.
