It was one to learn from for our Kensington West End Mens 1st Grade - Div One, who fell short against Sturt by 84 runs on Sunday.
Sturt set the target, making 9/306 from 50 overs. Our opponents' best was a half-century from Oli Carter, who made 86. Thomas Kelly made a quality 82 for the visitors, a well-deserved half-century. With the ball, Cameron Fatchen did the damage, claiming four for 34 off ten overs. Ethan Bamber weighed in with two for 41 off ten overs.
In reply, we finished on 222 from 41.4 overs. Joshua Doyle made a superb 60 off 56 balls, a well-made fifty. Henry Dall made an excellent 50 off 85 balls, a well-made fifty. Our opponents' best with the ball was Connor Gregory (four for 57). Angus Parker took three for 43 for the visitors.
Credit to our opponents, who played well. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the side will keep at it.
Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
