There was plenty to celebrate as our Kensington West End Mens 3rd Grade recorded a win over Glenelg in a finish that went down to the wire.
We kept Glenelg to 6/199 from 40 overs. Lachlan Douglass led the way for the visitors with 40 off 65 balls. Our opponents also got 35 from Jacob Lewis. Cameron Winen led the way with the ball, finishing with two for 48. There were also wickets for Taj Panelli (two for 48).
In reply, the team reached the target at 8/200 in 39.4 overs. Jamieson Payne passed fifty on the way to 53 off 50 balls with seven fours. Euan Fletcher passed fifty on the way to 50 off 64 balls with four fours. Tyson Matthews carried on to an unbeaten 39 off 58 balls. Thomas Smith was the pick of the visitors' bowlers with three for 49.
It went right down to the wire, but the side got the job done.
A day to enjoy for everyone at Kensington.
