It just wasn't our day: our Kensington West End Mens 4th Grade were beaten by Adelaide University on a day to learn from.
We batted first and finished with 5/179 on the board from 40 overs. Alex Chapman made an excellent 62 not out off 60 balls, a well-made fifty. Tharan Balachander brought up a quality half-century, finishing with 58 off 79 balls.
Adelaide University reached the target at 7/180 in 37.5 overs. Charlie McKay batted well for our opponents, making 44 off 48 balls. Dylan Koop chipped in with 38 for the visitors. Blake Hayward was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 18 off six overs. Harry Burgess backed up well, taking two for 29.
Plenty to take out of this one.
It's been a tough run, and we'll be working hard to turn it around. Credit to our opponents, and well played.
